Hello Traders,
According to recent International Energy Agency (IEA) data, diesel inventories have hit record lows right as retailers scramble to stock up for winter heating demand. Inventories are severely depleted because months of geopolitical shocks, namely the prolonged closure of the Strait of Hormuz, have choked off vital Middle Eastern refined product flows.
This localized tightness is compounded by Ukrainian strikes on key Russian refineries, which have taken crucial processing capacity offline and forced European buyers to aggressively redirect their purchasing to U.S. markets. This creates a precarious bottleneck: with American supply acting as the global relief valve, any disruption leaves the domestic market highly vulnerable.
It is only a matter of time before this deepening diesel spiral forces the Federal Reserve's hand into raising interest rates. With fuel costs skyrocketing across both Europe and the United States, relentless inflationary pressures are creating severe headwinds for the EUR/USD pair which will translate in a downward weight on major precious metals.

The notable technical breakout in the wheat ETF has caught my attention, catalyzed by intensifying geopolitical tensions between Russia and Ukraine following statements from Moscow declaring that peace negotiations have reached a complete impasse.
