Finally crypto started moving. For how long, I can’t tell you but I’m going to post some charts with support and resistance levels on Bitcoin and Ethereum, and also some positioning on IBIT 0.00%↑ ETHA 0.00%↑ COIN 0.00%↑ MSTR 0.00%↑ BMNR 0.00%↑ IREN 0.00%↑

This week, BTC gained around 20–23%, Ethereum gained roughly 25–30%, and many altcoins and crypto-related stocks also rose.
Key drivers (mid-week catalysts, especially Wednesday):
Treasury bond buybacks: Secretary Scott Bessent announced plans to at least double long-dated bond buybacks (to ≥$4B per operation). This lowered long-term yields, boosted risk appetite, weakened the dollar, and lifted Bitcoin/gold (operations start in September; reaction was mostly to the signal).
Short squeeze: Rapid price rise forced covering of ~$2.5–2.8B+ in Bitcoin shorts (and several billion across crypto), amplifying the rally.
Political/regulatory optimism: Trump met crypto executives at the White House and pushed a “fair” version of the CLARITY Act, reinforcing a pro-crypto stance.
ETF inflows: US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw strong net inflows (>$1B for the week), signaling returning institutional demand.
Remember, I wrote at least 10 times in our previous crypto reports that crypto bear market takes anywhere from 8-12 months. We’re in a month 10 and we retested 54% from the highs.
Because crypto is robust and has much greater institutional ownership, the bear markets will be less volatile as we go forwards. Let’s look at some levels of interest and positioning near term:
